Marco D' Alberti appointed as Judge of the Constitutional Court of Italy
The President of the Italian Republic, Sergio Mattarella, has appointed as Judge of the Constitutional Court, pursuant to art. 135 of the Constitution, Professor Marco D’Alberti, replacing Professor Giuliano Amato, who will complete his term of office, as Judge and President of the Constitutional Court, on 18 September.
Professor Marco d' Alberti In addition to being legal advisor to the Prime Minister, is also a member of the Superior Council of the Bank of Italy, emeritus professor of administrative law at the Sapienza University of Rome since 2019, where he graduated in the seventies. In the same university he was assistant to Massimo Severo Giannini, then he was a teacher, from 1978 to 1992, at the Universities of Camerino, Urbino, Ancona, at the Higher School of Public Administration, at Luiss. Then he returned to Sapienza in Political Sciences (from 1992 to 1997 and from 2004 to 2007) and to Law (from 2007 to 2018).
He is a member of the Board of Directors of the European Public Law Organization, of the European Group of Public Law of EPLO, of the Académie internationale de droit comparé, and of the Council of the International Society of Public Law. His university career was intertwined with public offices. From 1997 to 2004 he was a member of the Antitrust Authority. In 2013 he chaired the Commission for the Relaunch of Cultural Heritage and Tourism. In the three-year period 2019-2022 he chaired the Superior Council for Cultural and Landscape Heritage.
Professor Marco D’Alberti will take the oath before the President of the Republic on Tuesday 20 September at the Palazzo del Quirinale.
