Institute on Crime & Criminal Justice (ICCJ)
The mission of the Institute on Crime and Criminal Justice focuses on promoting study, research, consulting, training and policy-oriented work to crime related studies and criminal justice policies at national, European and international level.
The specific fields of interest of the Institute on Crime and Criminal Justice are Human Rights, Criminal Justice Policies, Criminology, Victimology, Security, Civil Society and Social issues.
Our values focused on promoting democracy, rule of law and human rights, especially in the criminal justice systems. We promote ethical collaboration andencourage holistic and interdisciplinary approaches. Through innovative methodologies, excellence in research, high-level expertise and high-quality serviceswe advance knowledge, improve evidence-based policies, and support -through consultation and technical assistance- countries and organisations to tackle crime and violence. We are eligible for undertaking projects and programs on relevant issues at national, European and international level. Educational and awareness activities are also implemented by the Institute.
The Institute on Crime and Criminal Justice constitutes an academically independent unit of the European Public Law Organization with operational autonomy and operates under the responsibility of its Director and the Scientific Council.
The Scientific Council acts as a permanent advisory committee on scientific issues for which consultation is necessary. The members of the Scientific Council are personalities of high academic and professional qualifications and international recognition.
