The EPLO implements a large number of programs funded by the European Union and other international donors, assisting governments and institutions around the world. The main areas of intervention comprise: governance, the rule of law, human rights, public administration, democratization, legislative approximation to the EU acquis, migration and sustainable development. The position is located within the Dept. of Technical co-operation of EPLO. The candidate will be involved in the Interreg Euro-MED Project “HERIT ADAPT” – HERItage and territory resilience through sustainable Tourism, climate change ADAPtation and ciTizen engagement (Euro-MED0200388).
The overall objective of the project is to enhance the sustainability and resilience of tourism, particularly in the realm of Heritage Tourism. The project aims to address risks posed by human activity, climate change, and their impacts on cultural and natural heritage assets. To achieve this, HERIT ADAPT focuses on increasing innovation, adaptation, and mitigation capacities, while promoting collaboration, effective decision-making, and the development of action plans and strategies. The goal is to protect and unlock the untapped potential of cultural and natural heritage, turning challenges into opportunities and inspiring the adoption of innovative solutions across different regions.
Responsibilities
The candidate is expected to:
- Plan & coordinate communication for EPLO’s role within HERIT ADAPT, aligning messages with the project’s communication objectives (awareness, engagement, behavior/knowledge change among target audiences).
- Ensure Programme-compliant visibility, including correct use of the Euro-MED branding/publicity rules and publication via the Euro-MED web platform.
- Contribute to project transnational campaigns (e.g., one citizen-science and one wider-public awareness campaign of the Leading Partner in Greece) and coordinate EPLO’s inputs, content, and metrics.
- Engage stakeholders (Quadruple Helix) through the Final HERIT ADAPT capitalization Conference (May 2026). Be responsible for its implementation. Be responsible for all conference provisions.
- Produce content (social media, visuals, videos) highlighting the Sustainable Tourism Models’ development, pilot testing, results, and lessons learnt. Responsible for the set-up and development of the training modules of the Euro-MED Academy.
- Track outputs & KPIs tied to communication deliverables/outputs and provide evidence for reporting (e.g., contributions to campaigns, engagement statistics).
- Collaborate with technical WPs to translate complex results (tools, pilots, methodologies) into clear messages for non-technical audiences.
- Support horizontal principles in communications (e.g., sustainability, inclusiveness, leaving no one behind) consistent with project commitments.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Education
- University degree from an accredited academic institution.
Experience
- At least 6 years of professional experience in projects related to networking, liaising, communication/dissemination.
- Experience in events’, workshops’, seminars’ organization.
- Experience in public relations’ projects.
- Demonstrated work on multi-partner, international communication (content creation, campaigns, events, media/social media).
- Experience ensuring donor branding/publicity compliance and web-platform publishing.
Languages
- Fluency (oral and written) in English

- Strategic Communication: Ability to plan messaging toward measurable changes in audience awareness/engagement.
- Collaboration: Effective coordination with Communication Officer and partner communication managers.
- Content & Editorial: Clear writing, visual briefings, and compelling storytelling about pilots, tools, and strategies.
- Planning & Organizing: Delivery to tight timelines with rigorous evidence capture for reporting.
- Integrity & Attention to Detail: Strict adherence to Euro-MED visibility/publicity requirements.
