The EPLO implements a large number of programs funded by the European Union and other international donors, assisting governments and institutions around the world. The main areas of intervention comprise:  governance, the rule of   law, human rights, public administration, democratization, legislative approximation to the EU acquis, migration and sustainable development. The position is located within the Dept. of Technical co-operation of EPLO. The candidate will be involved in the Interreg Euro-MED Project “HERIT ADAPT” – HERItage and territory resilience through sustainable Tourism, climate change ADAPtation and ciTizen engagement (Euro-MED0200388).

The overall objective of the project is to enhance the sustainability and resilience of tourism, particularly in the realm of Heritage Tourism. The project aims to address risks posed by human activity, climate change, and their impacts on cultural and natural heritage assets. To achieve this, HERIT ADAPT focuses on increasing innovation, adaptation, and mitigation capacities, while promoting collaboration, effective decision-making, and the development of action plans and strategies. The goal is to protect and unlock the untapped potential of cultural and natural heritage, turning challenges into opportunities and inspiring the adoption of innovative solutions across different regions.

 

Responsibilities

The candidate is expected to:

  • Lead technical planning and delivery for HERIT ADAPT activities, including requirements/specifications, solution mapping, pilot evaluation, and transfer of results.
  • Translate project objectives into clear technical specifications, work plans, and timelines; coordinate day-to-day implementation with partners and local stakeholders.
  • Act as the Results Amplification Strategy Referent of the project (as described in Euro-MED Programme Manual).
  • Assist partners to assess existing tools/solutions (e.g., sensing/IoT, GIS, data analytics) and financial feasibility of selected solutions and how to integrate or adapt them to tourist destinations’ needs.
  • Participate in the assessment of the pilot KPIs, by focusing also in the financial sustainability of the selected solutions.
  • Provide clear inputs for reporting and support verifications/audits with complete technical evidence.
  • Support the execution of the Final Conference in Athens organized by EPLO (tenders, procedures, negotiations etc.).

 

Required Qualifications and Experience

Experience

  • 8+ years in delivery/coordination of multi-partner projects.
  • Strong documentation discipline (requirements, test plans, validation, lessons learnt) and collaboration experience with EU institutions.
  • Project reporting experience.

 

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized academic institution.

Languages

  • Fluency (oral and written) in English is required.

  • Technical Leadership: translate objectives into implementable specifications and pilot plans.
  • Planning & Organizing: structure delivery to tight deadlines; manage risks; maintain versioned archives.
  • Communication: explain technical topics clearly to non-technical audiences; facilitate collaborations and day-to-day project networking.
  • Integrity & Attention to Detail: comply with program visibility, sustainability and data-protection guidance.
